Dea Parsanishi specializes in helping people resolve the symptoms of trauma. Her work includes a somatic perspective that is particularly helpful to people who are experiencing somatic symptoms related to their trauma history: anxiety, depression, digestive disturbances, chronic pain, immune symptoms, flashbacks or body memories, emotional flooding.... She shares her understanding of how trauma disrupts the normal regulation of the body and nervous system, as well as the normal regulation of our emotions, behaviours, thoughts and spiritual life.
She works with trauma symptoms connected to both early developmental and shock (single intense event) trauma: including surgeries, car accidents, workplace accidents, natural disaster, childhood abuse, sexual abuse, birth and intrauterine trauma, living in a chaotic or scary place....
Dea is a Certified Canadian Counsellor (ccpa-accp.ca), Somatic Experiencing Practitioner and Somatic Experiencing faculty member (traumahealing.org).
